Please, stop using Office 2016.
If you absolutely feel that you need this software, spend money on 365…
OR
LibreOffice, a FOSS that is currently updated.
With Office 365, you are paying for software as a service. This means that often times, if something doesnt work, a developer team will asses next steps in the hopeful resolution, provided it is in line with the companies intent.
With LibreOffice, you are getting a free and opensource project that is not subject to license. Meaning, you (and the rest of the community) are able to make modifications as you wish.
None of these attributes apply to Office 2016. As an IT representative, I beg you, please remove Office 2016 from your Windows computer. While it is still technically under Microsoft’s support until October 2025, the fact that buggy behavior is presenting itself on a sunsetting version of Office is not something new in the world of tech.
That’s my two cents. My personal choice is (you guessed it) the FOSS method, in having LibreOffice as my main office functionality.
Let me know what you think though. I’d love to hear your ideas.
